Day-by-Day Itinerary

D1Bishkek City — Arrival (30 km)

Arrive at Manas International Airport. Meet your guide and transfer to a guesthouse in central Bishkek. Hot shower, rest, and breakfast. City tour: the central square, museums, and Osh Market — the second-largest bazaar in Bishkek. Dinner and overnight at guesthouse.

D2Bishkek → Kochkor Village (196 km)

Drive from Bishkek to Kochkor village with a stop at the Burana Tower (10th century). On arrival in Kochkor, visit the local handicraft shop and watch a traditional felt carpet (shyrdak) making demonstration. Dinner and overnight in a local family homestay.

D3Kochkor → Kyzart-bel — Horse Riding Begins (70 km)

Drive to Kyzart-bel where local horsemen and horses await at the beautiful summer pasture (jailoo). Continue the journey on horseback into the Kilemche gorge through panoramic mountain scenery. Lunch outdoors in the mountain air. Experience real nomadic life on horseback. Overnight and dinner in a traditional yurt.

D4Kilemche Gorge → Jalgyz-Karagai — On Horseback

Nomadic breakfast: airan (yoghurt), cottage cheese, sour cream, and the chance to try kymyz — fermented mare's milk, the essential nomadic drink. Continue riding through the high mountain gorges to the Jalgyz-Karagai pasture. Overnight and dinner in a traditional yurt.

D5Jalgyz-Karagai → Son-Kul Lake → Bishkek

Breakfast in the yurt. Horseback ride through the mountain pass to Son-Kul Lake (3,016 m) — an alpine expanse 270 km² wide, the second-largest lake in Kyrgyzstan. Lunch stop at Jaman-Echki meadow near the water's edge. Horse riding ends here. Your driver meets you and transfers you to Bishkek city. Dinner at a café. Overnight in a hotel.

D6Ala-Archa National Park & Ata-Beiyt Memorial

Drive to Ala-Archa National Park (40 km from Bishkek): feed the squirrels, breathe fresh mountain air, hike through the gorge to the waterfall. Then visit Ata-Beiyt Memorial Complex — a place of deep national significance, commemorating Kyrgyz political victims of Stalin's 1938 purges. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight at guesthouse.
